HAPI Shorts: The highlighted session for January was the Use of Color in Communication by Jon Young. The session started with suggestions that Young has found to be helpful based on his many years of experience. Next, Young discussed how the use of color in communications may help direct the reader to highlights of the material being provided. The session closed a review of colors used for presentation slides background and a look at actual presentation slides and how the background changes how the slide is perceived.
Please see the HAPI Calendar of Upcoming Events below for other upcoming HAPI Shorts sessions.

The program featured short, energetic presentations from fifteen women-focused organizations, each given three to four minutes to share what they do and what they are working on with an audience of approximately one hundred attendees. The event provided a great opportunity to learn about the wide range of initiatives supporting women across Hawaiʻi’s construction and professional communities. Each year we are invited to contribute an article for the Construction Preview issue of Building Industry Hawaii magazine. The goal is to provide their readers with a better sense as to what may lie ahead for their organization, for the construction industry, and for Hawaii. HAPI’s contribution to this year’s issue is “Getting Modern with HiMOD and HiMA.” Click here for our article that provides an introduction to HiMOD and HiMA, and a glimpse at the HDOT Highways pilot project using HiMA.
